PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Effective 7 September 2026

The short version

KinAfar uses personal information to provide family technology guidance, manage memberships and keep the service safe. We do not sell personal information. Everyday screenshots are sent for the answer you request and are not added to KinAfar's screenshot library.

1. Who we are

KinAfar is a service operated by Can Yang, an Australian sole trader, providing guided technology help for families. In this policy, “KinAfar”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Can Yang as the operator of the KinAfar service.

For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact aurayangofficial@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use KinAfar, we may collect:

  • your name, email address, country and relationship to the person you are helping;
  • the family member's chosen name, language, helper style and setup preferences;
  • screenshots, photos and the description of the technology problem you submit;
  • membership, subscription and payment-status information, including Stripe customer, subscription and checkout identifiers;
  • device-access labels, device tokens, login and verification records;
  • usage records needed to apply trial and membership limits; and
  • technical information such as browser type, device information and a privacy-protective hash derived from IP address and browser information for trial limits and abuse prevention; and
  • website visits and actions such as starting the free experience, beginning checkout and completing a purchase, collected through the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement.

KinAfar does not receive or store your full card number. Payment details are handled by Stripe and Link.

3. Screenshots and AI processing

When you request everyday guidance, the screenshot and your description are sent to an AI service to generate the next-step answer and, when selected, spoken guidance. These requests are configured not to be stored by the AI provider. KinAfar records that a use occurred so it can apply trial or membership limits, but it does not add these everyday screenshots to a KinAfar screenshot library.

A different rule applies if you separately choose to submit a screenshot through a pilot, research or validation form. In that case, the form will ask for consent and the screenshot and related details may be stored so KinAfar can review and improve the service.

Please cover or crop names, phone numbers, passwords, verification codes, payment details, bank details and identity documents before uploading. Do not submit a payment, account-recovery or verification screen.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide screenshot guidance and optional voice replies;
  • personalise a family member's helper and language;
  • activate and manage memberships, trusted browsers and one-time setup links;
  • send sign-in codes, service messages and payment-related communications;
  • protect the service, prevent misuse and enforce usage limits;
  • respond to support, privacy and legal requests; and
  • improve KinAfar when you have separately agreed to participate in a pilot or validation activity.

5. When we share information

We share only what is reasonably necessary with service providers that help us operate KinAfar, including:

  • OpenAI for AI screenshot analysis and optional speech generation;
  • Stripe and Link for checkout, subscriptions, receipts, fraud prevention and payment management;
  • email-delivery providers for sign-in codes and service messages; and
  • hosting, database, storage, security and operational providers.
  • Meta for advertising delivery, measurement and campaign optimisation through the Meta Pixel.

Some providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other locations where they or their subprocessors operate. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect safety or legal rights, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information or provide it to data brokers.

6. Family members and other people's information

If you provide information about another person, including a parent, grandparent, friend or setup helper, you must have their permission or another lawful basis to do so. Tell them about this policy where appropriate. A setup helper cannot see the payer's card details and does not automatically receive access to everyday screenshots.

KinAfar is not directed to children under 18. A person purchasing or managing a membership must be at least 18.

7. Storage, security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including hashed access tokens and limited-access systems. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain business and payment records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Retention periods differ by information type. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it.

8. Browser storage and cookies

KinAfar uses browser storage and essential cookies or similar technologies to remember trial progress, keep a trusted browser signed in and protect private membership access. We also use the Meta Pixel and related technologies to measure visits, free-experience starts, checkout starts and purchases resulting from our advertising, and to help Meta deliver and optimise ads.

Meta may receive technical and activity information from the Pixel and process it under its own privacy terms. You can limit this tracking through your browser settings and the advertising controls provided by Meta.

9. Access, correction, deletion and complaints

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, ask us to delete information where applicable, or raise a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Contact us at aurayangofficial@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied and the Australian Privacy Act applies, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when KinAfar, our providers or applicable laws change. We will publish the updated policy here and change the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use existing personal information, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users.
